Pattern Drafts

Drafting instructions (and automated "drafters") for:
  • Men's waistcoats (vests): single-breasted, double-breasted, dress.
Note that the finished vest patterns include seam allowances, which is 3/8".
Also note that the vest patterns are from a very old book, so the fit is snug.

  • Men's pants, and my "improvement" to it.

  • Women's slopers:
A note on adding ease: since these are "slopers", that is, two-dimensional approximation of a body, the pattern pieces do not include wearing ease. If one makes a garment from the sloper pattern pieces, one would get a skin-tight garment that will fit only when one is standing straight, and that does not have any room to allow for movement!
Scan of pages from an old pattern drafting book, with drafting instructions for: trousers, jodhpurs, "young men's basic sack coat" (single breasted jacket) with lapel and sleeve drafts, double breasted jacket, shirt, vests (vest, double breasted, dress), "full dress evening coat" ("tails"):
