Drafting Instructions for Women's Sleeve Sloper

Draft pattern for women's sleeve sloper by following these manual drafting instructions, or use the form below to generate drafting instructions specifically for your measurements.

(NOTE: the instructions generated are specifically for the measurements that you enter, but then you have to actually draft (draw) the pattern by hand, following those instructions! If you'd like a more automated solution, check out Dress Shop App.)

All measurements are to be taken with the customer wearing foundation garments.
NOTE: there are NO allowances for seams; seam allowances are to be added later.
NOTE 2: wearing ease is not included, because a sloper, by definition, is a pattern for a garment that fits like a "second skin", with no room allowed for breathing, movement, etc. Wearing ease is to be added later.

  Use metric units

[PIC] A1 Overarm Length measure from the top of the shoulder seam and armjoint down to the elbow and wrist.
A2 Underarm Length measure the underarm from the wrists up to the approximate armpit of the garment.
A3 Bicep measure around the fullest part of the arm close to the armpit. This measurement should be taken with ease (I slip two fingers under the tape measure).
A4 Wrist there are two kinds of wrist measurements. One is taken with ease directly arounf the wrists. The sleeve, however, must have an opening at the wrist in order for the hand to pass through.
The second wrist measurement is taken around the knuckles. In this case, the sleeve will not need an opening at the wrist for the hand to pass through. This measurement is used mostly for the two-piece sleeve in jackets.
